Norfolk Virginia Travel
I loved Charlottesville and Central Virginia and now dream constantly of my next trip to Norfolk and Hampton Roads. I visited Norfolk to find out why it's one of the hottest destinations in the US
Norfolk's delight in the beauty of the sea is offset by its beautiful beaches, picturesque views and excellent food and drink.
The charming town of Portsmouth is easily accessible by ferry and bridge, and Newport News and Hampton are the largest cities in the state of Virginia and the second and third largest cities in Virginia respectively. There are also a number of bridges, tunnels and roads that connect Hampton Roads to the cities. The four-lane two-lane tunnel system connects the city of Norfolk with the rest of the Virginia Peninsula, as well as the Outer Banks and Virginia Beach. Williamsburg and Outer Banks, both on the coast, are so closed that they are off the peninsula, so it is convenient to combine a trip to Hampton Road with a visit to both. It is not only the home of a bridge and tunnel to all the United States, but also the only state in America with such a complex of bridges / tunnel roads and complexes that connect its cities with each other and with other states.
If you like history, there are plenty of other places to see that you can't get enough of, such as the Virginia Museum of Natural History. Norfolk Busch Gardens is only an hour away, but we recommend booking a full day to enjoy all that the park has to offer. It would be easy to extend the trip and also spend time in nearby places like Virginia Beach and Williamsburg.
Other popular attractions include the Virginia Museum of Natural History, Norfolk State University and Norfolk Public Library. Along the thriving inner city corridor, you will also find a variety of restaurants and bars, as well as numerous shopping and dining options.
Even if you're not quite out of the zoo yet, you should include this activity in your list of Norfolk attractions. If you are thinking of visiting Norfolk, you are welcome to contact our guide with any questions.
One of the funniest things to do in Norfolk, Va. is to spend the day at Ocean View Beach. Whitehurst Beach Park is located just a few miles from where you live in Virginia Beach, Virginia. It has a beautiful pier for fishing and it is often a quiet escape from all the crowds on the Virginia beach. So there's a reason we recommend watching some of the most beautiful sunsets ever.
In Norfolk, activities range from museums and historic sites to sea cruises and beach walks. Norfolk is home to the largest naval base in the world and is well-surrounded by harbours, rivers and beaches. There are many water sports and a wide range of beach activities. Norfolk is not only home to a large naval base, but also quite patriotic, which will inevitably lead to many military families coming to Norfolk.
While in Norfolk, you should definitely get a taste of good food, whether it's at one of the many restaurants in the city, such as St. George's Restaurant, or at a local restaurant, such as the Royal Diner.
I highly recommend all these restaurants, but there are a lot of other wonderful options, and if you return to the city I would love to take a tour of various areas with the Norfolk Tour Company. If you prefer a different route, you can take a longer scenic trip by traveling east from D.C. to the East Coast of Maryland or south to Virginia and stopping at one of the many restaurants in the area, such as St. George's Restaurant. However, the Norfolk Travel Company offers tours to many different parts of Norfolk. Enjoy the historic routes we have taken over the past two weeks and head east to D, C or south to Virginia.
An alternative route to Norfolk is the Northeast Regional Route, which ends in Newport News and heads south to Virginia Beach, Virginia.
If you want to take a quick scenic route from Norfolk to Portsmouth, the Elizabeth River Ferry is for you. Join the Spirit of Norfolk, which offers cruises on the Elizabeth River, and you're on your way to Norfolk. Norfolk is one of the most beautiful cities in the United States with beautiful beaches and scenic views. Norfolk and Portsmouth have a variety of restaurants, bars, shops, hotels, restaurants and other attractions.
If you visit Norfolk from further afield, there are many routes to Norfolk, and you can fly to almost any place in Norfolk. There are also privately-run boats and taxis that take you to the Norfolk and Portsmouth waterfront. From here you can take a trip to the harbour to one of the marinas or take a tour of the Norfolk naval base to see the aircraft carriers and ships.
