I also love Anime, but I wont even go into that right now.

Im also a guitarist. I don't play the electric guitar though, in fact I only play classical music, mainly from Spanish origins. I don't have a guitar here, its at home and I had to leave it behind when I joined the Navy. And I do NOT trust the mail with my guitars. Plural. But i'm planning on saving up to buy a new one.

Getting started is always the hardest part of any paper, essay, or in this case a paragraph in hopes to strike up any intrests. I grew up around the world, bit of a Navy brat, and over 2 years ago enlisted myself. I'm Not sure what I want to become but I'm leaning towards Nursing. I also love medicine, I think my mom has some influence on that one. I've spent the majority of my life in Texas..yes steers and queers, I know, and I miss it alot, I plan on moving back there one day. I'm adventurous and recently got into white water rafting. My weekends are out with friends, grilling, camping, or sometimes you just need "me time" too. I love my family more than anything, bit of a daddy's girl..lol. I've learned that life can down right suck sometimes but you just have to put on your big girl panties and deal with it! I work hard for everything I've accomplished and keep pushing myself everyday. I do belive in God, I haven't gone to church in awhile or "practiced" it lately, but yes there is a God and he looks after me, for some reason that I don't know why. I don't dwell on the past, but I do learn from it. I try not to judge people because I am in no place to judge them. I'm more of a giver when it comes to relationships, friendships, and family but don't take my kindness as a weakness. I have a great sense of humor and crack the occasional woman jokes, or the corney ones work too. I have 3 tattoos and 7 piercings, and I don't plan on stopping there. Wow, so I have to write down a few sentances about myself.. hmm, ok. Well, I use to play hockey in high school. I am in the Navy. I enjoy working out, fishing, hunting, my ipod, and getting to know new people. I love to go out and party with my friends, but I also like staying in watching movies, or just hanging out. I am currently living in San Diego because that is where I am stationed, but not for long, I will be changing commands and moving to Virginia in the middle of March. I grew up an average kid from an average small town, spent most of my summers at the beach wake boarding and going out to some local party spot for a bon fire at night. I took a chance at college but made the mistake to join the military and dropped out haha, seriously people stay in school!

-I am an unlikely mix of black, Chinese and Filipino, born in the Philippines (exNavybrat).

-I graduated from ODU in '07 with a B.A. in History. I was originally a Computer Science major, with dreams of creating video games, but then spending three days looking for one misplaced comma in a thousand lines of C++ code broke me.

-I have been known to drop down and get my eagle on when I am alone in a bathroom. And I only almost got caught once.

I am 20 years old and I like to have a good time. I have lived in Virginia Beach since I was twelve and now I live in Norfolk. I'm working full time right now while I take a break from school. I am Andrew, and I have always hated ice breakers and as a result self-summaries. However they are technically important for this whole on-line dating thing, so here I go.

I am a basically a geeky guy looking for happiness. However I can be a little shy and pretty oblivious to any signs, good or bad. As such though I am very loyal to the friends I have and to my family who I know will always back me up. Its the sheer anonymity of strangers that totally throws me off. I am hoping this site might give me some help with that.

I can be pretty stubborn at times, and I am not one to be threatened easily; I will speak up when I think it is necessary. I try to be fully sincere with my comments and be direct. I also like to try new things with people, since even if things go badly at least you have a story for later to laugh at. I am also pretty awful with names, leading to several occasions where I wouldn't recognize a band name despite hearing them on the radio all the time or recognizing someones face but not knowing who they were.

I mentioned I am a geek, and that basically comes down to the fact I love video games. However, I also know that a lot of people do not, and that there tends to be a negative opinions to gamers. So let me get this out of the way; I do not play WoW or any other kind of on-line type game that sucks up some many hours and lives, I know how to hold a conversation without involving video games, I do things other than video games, I am not violent or plan on replicating anything I see in a game, and I know how to pause/ save/ quit a game when someone needs something or wants to hang out.

Some other things I like to do include rock climbing (I would love to eventually try out an actual rock face), checking out movies either in theaters or at home (sometimes making fun of them MSK3 style), going to music or theater publications when I have the chance, and the beach is always cool.

500 words for a quality self-essay, that's kind of hard, reminds me of back when I was in composition writing in college. Passed the course when the teacher very rudely woke me up and shouted "Give me two pronouns!". All I could do was look behind me and ask "Who, Me?" and next thing I know I got an "A".

But I'm sure if you're reading this you're hoping to learn more about me than my college years. For starters, I'm happily married with 1 son, I work with computers for a living, and tend to have a sarcastic sense of humor. Born and raised in the Hampton Roads area although I have lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for several years. The weather's nice and all but this is pretty much home for me.

I tend to be rather shy at first and sometimes don't know what to say next in a conversation but I'm sure once you get to know me better you'll be glad you did. Here are a few random facts about me:

I love indie music and indie films, dogs (but I don't have one now), going to concerts and musicals, hiking and camping, traveling, reading, dancing, drinking wine (in moderation of course), sushi, playing sports, and listening to NPR.

I read. It's my default activity in any situation. I haven't been to the movies in about five months, but I go to a bookstore about twice a week. If Miguel de Cervantes, Antoine de Saint-Exupery, and Daniel Quinn had a literary menage a trois and all contributed genetic material to a child who then wrote books, I would be in love.

I don't like feeling trapped. I like to ensure I can come and go, whether that's from my immediate spot or from the country I live in. I like to experience everything I can, everywhere I can.

I love big cities. Excursions into nowhere are stellar and I'll gladly go traipsing off, but at the end of it all I have a sad love of concrete and public transportation.

I'm a secular Humanist. I'm pro-choice. I love snakes. Those three are not related.

I like languages. I taught my own for years and I've formally studied five. We're made of flesh and blood but what's in the spaces between is all language. I do geeky things with language, like write sci-fi stories in collectives and spend Friday nights playing Guess The Language This Word Came From.

I appreciate translation gaffes. I have many, many stories. Ask me about the bread story in China if you're not delicate.

I want someone with a wandering spirit, that wants to get up, poke around, uncover, experience, stretch out, unfurl, and bust through a wall shouting OH YEAH! And make the world a better place while you're at it.

I ask a lot of questions, both about you (like, "do you ever fantasize about living your life over again from birth, knowing everything you know now?") and not (like, about the future of morality.) I am not good at finding segues for these questions. I like to learn things, but I am lazy. I have not yet learned to make danishes, for example, because it is an arduous process. I feel worse about this than you might think.
I like to cut out the first .2 seconds of silence from the songs on my ipod, and the 5 seconds of silence that usually follows each song. This makes me feel shallow.

:) "My Self-Summary"... that is a tough one. If I could summarize myself I would say that I am an intelligent man. I try to keep myself in shape, not male model type but healthy. I enjoy just about anything, the only things that really bother me are; odd sensitivity to child-molesters/rapists, social gluttony, and cottage cheese. I am pretty open-minded to anything else. I love pretty much everything else... except my job, which will be over within 2 years and I can move on to a career I enjoy.

I am a beach bum, and am kind of sad that summer is over. It is the best season evar!

When I'm not at the beach, I just like to do regular stuff. watch TV, read, talk on the phone, shop (seriously, what girl doesn't like to shop?), go roller blading at the rinks, and go to restaurants with gurlfriends. Fave spots are Applebee's and stuff. Just a regular normal girl who likes to have fun.
